Beautiful Place!
Very comfortable and beautiful place! We stayed a week and slept great, loved being able to swim out front and loved having the kitchen and table out back.
We used the AC comfortably at night mostly but didn't go over the limit. Loved the history of the place and you could see Kees had his family had a lot of memories here! Thanks!

If you're considering booking, just do it! We couldn't recommend it more. After reading the reviews from other travelers, we now understand why Kees; space is so highly rated. Our family has traveled extensively, but this place is unparalleled. the Caribbean ocean right at your doorstep, easy water access, stunning turquoise hues, & privacy make this an unforgettable experience. The outdoor shower, charming vintage-style home (an older property, yet impeccably maintained), & thoutfll touches add so much character. Kees is incredibly responsive, & we can't wait to return. The beds were comfortable. Connecting with nature was the ultimate highlight. (& of course the views) We're so grateful Kees shared the slice of paradise with us and hope more people get to experience it. Truly a dream destination- hope to be back soon!

Beautiful
My wife and I have traveled to some of the most picturesque places in the world including Bora Bora, Maldives and Bahamas. Kees house was one of the most beautiful places my wife and I have ever stayed in. Not only do you experience the clear blue water but a home filled with such history as well as the aura you have the moment you step into the home. Curacao is different, we will definitely visit the beautiful Dutch Caribbean Island again.
P.S.- You have to visit Klein Island “Little Curacao” just south of the island via chartered boat or catamaran.

What an absolute dream it was staying at this beautiful location! The easy access to the ocean which led to hours of snorkeling right off the dock, was magical. Amazing
Our stay was amazing. When we checked in, I was blown away by the views and scenery. It was even better than the pics in the listing. Our family of 4 (including 2 kids) loved to snorkel right off the deck. And we enjoyed the location. Two of the nights, we walked to the restaurants less than a 10 min walk away and enjoyed dinner and beautiful sunsets. The house is also centrally located to visit the beaches to the NW or a short drive into Willemstad for dinner.

Paradise!
Dolphins just came swimming by at 8:15am while we had our last dip in the water. It was an entire pod about 20 feet from the shore and such an incredible experience for us both.
We enjoyed everything Casa Marise has to offer.
The birds, iguanas, PRIVACY, magical clear water! We have already scheduled our trip back here for next year so hopefully our adult kids can experience this Paradise.
Sunsets are unforgettable!

Amazing House
I can’t say enough nice things about this amazing house. It’s one of those things where you want to leave a terrible review so other people won’t book it so it’s available when you need it, but I honestly can’t say anything negative about this place. I spent so much time on the back patio, watching the sunsets, watching the birds, and just relaxing. The outdoor shower was amazing after coming up from the ocean. The kitchen was amazing and well stocked with dishes and utensils, and everything we needed.

Absolutely wonderful!
Casa Marise was fantastic! The house is charmingly rustic, which encouraged us to unplug and completely relax in Curaçao. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast with the birds (pickup some birdseed at the local market and you will have many feathered friends). Some of the best snorkeling on the island is right off the deck. The location is convenient both to Willemstad and the beautiful beaches to the north. There is a great restaurant and bar a short walk away, and everything else is an easy drive. We spent most of our time at the house on the patio overlooking the ocean, and at night we’d sit outside and enjoy the stars. Dayenne, the property manager, is friendly and responsive. We were so lucky to find this spot and if - hopefully - we find our way back to Curaçao, we’ll definitely be booking here again.

Absolutely Stunning!
This place was absolutely stunning. My husband and I spent 6 days in paradise for our honeymoon, and we enjoyed lounging in the patio, watching local wildlife, and swimming in the warm, turquoise waters.
The location is great, the house has wonderful security, and I love their book they provide, which offers local recommendations. We ordered dinner from Selma one night, and my husband proclaimed it to be the best meal he had had all year.
There is an AC in both bedrooms, but not the common area. If you keep the AC on all day, expect to go over your allotted electricity allowance. We doubled our allowance and paid $72, which was definitely worth it since it was pretty hot during our stay. A+ Airbnb and a really perfect and stunning location, and responsive hosts! We are already planning to return for one of our anniversaries in the future :)

I would love to say this place is horrible so I could keep it all to myself but I can’t do that. This might be my favorite Airbnb yet. The views are to die for. It’s peaceful, relaxing, breezy and in a great location. We spent the mornings snorkeling out the back and would have lunch and then drive to different beaches. We loved playa Grandi beach where we swam with turtles and saw many fish. We also visited Grote Knip beach and it was beautiful. Our favorite was just 10 mins from the house at Kokomo beach. Full service beach with gorgeous views . Kees was wonderful to help me arrange a surprise 90 min massage for the hubby at the house! It was incredible!!! If you are reading this review, BOOK IT you’ll LOVE IT!!

Amazing Views
The view from the back patio is even better than the photos. Access for snorkeling and diving was fantastic. My husband was recently scuba certified and this was his first dive trip. It didn't disappoint. Sonia was a great host and was quick to respond with assistance. We loved this little island and certainly hope to return in the future.

Breathtaking
Wow! Just wow! Pictures do not do justice to this view. It’s breathtaking. Simply gorgeous. Does not get better than this view.
And the house.... you feel like you stepped back in time into a movie set. The house has so much charm! It completely won us over! Open air living at its best with a view that doesn’t stop.
We snorkeled right off the deck and saw tons of fish! We cooked out overlooking the sea. We watched the spectacular sunsets. Curaçao and our time in this house completely charmed us.

Perfect Retreat
This was the perfect retreat in paradise. We made our vacation decision based on the online photos of the house and it didn't disappoint. The house was comfortable and the swimming and diving off the deck was really nice. It was hard to convince myself to leave the house to explore the rest of the island. From making friends with he iguanas & lizards to exploring the birds, to snorkeling off the dock and grilling while the sun set, it was beautiful. We are a SCUBA family, and got to dive and explore the under water eco system of beaches (like playa pescado, cas abou, playa kokomo, and more). We saw things like lion fish, moray eel, crabs, loggerheads, many other fish, and more. Amazing

Beautiful secure little home in a quiet village with amazing sunset views! Yet only a short car ride to downtown and all the restaurants and shopping you could ask for.
We did multiple day and night dives on the reef and wall from our own dock! You could not ask for a more convenient spot and we are only two doors away from a dive shop for tanks. Great little restaurant in walking distance, or you can cook in with the full kitchen. We did several barbecues In our own yard! Amazing place I could not recommend a more relaxing spot!

Charming Home.
This is a very well equipped house in a very rural quiet area which, requires a rental car (no immediate public transportation) to explore the island or even to get into town. The charm of this rental is the quiet location with great view of sunsets. You can snorkel or dive right off the lower back deck. This rental is especially suited for older children or even two couples. There is one restaurant (Alex) within walking distance which provides you with local ambiance. There is also a beach within walking distance that also has a dive shop which has fantastic service (Patrick, Alex's brother) and prices. One of the great treasures of Curacao is the 38 beaches located throughout the island. Exploring them gives you a great perspective of life on the island. We would definitely consider renting this house again and continuing our exploration of Curacao.

Private Home.
I can not say enough things about this perfect house on the ocean. We spent every morning and evening sitting outside by the sea. The deck has a ladder for easy access to the water which we used every day, multiple times of day to swim and explore the house reef (so many fish!). The house itself was much bigger than we thought and had everything we needed for a perfect vacation; the two bedrooms were spacious and clean and each had their own bathroom (although we spent all our time in the beautiful outdoor space). We left this house only to scuba dive, kite-board and visit town - all of which you need a car for. The neighbourhood is very quiet and private and suited our group of four perfectly; it is situated perfectly between Willenstad and West Punt, making driving to either not too far. The owners and host Sonia were extremely welcoming and helpful and just a joy to deal with. We can't imagine staying anywhere else when we return.

Private paradise.
We just returned from a 2 week stay at Casa Marise. We are from Canada so to get away while it is -40 at home was wonderful and worth the price, our exchange rate is terrible at the moment but we would rebook in a heartbeat.
The house is secured with a gated entry and the entire place feels very safe and private.
Great snorkeling right off the dock, perfect sunsets, with a steady stream of ships passing by. There are binoculars in a case on the desk that came in handy.
We cooked almost every dinner in the house. No restaurant could beat the view. And the nearby grocery store has a wide selection of products.
The large kitchen is very well appointed.
There are plenty of bath and beach towels in the house and the bed in the master bedroom was great.
We did have an unfortunate incident when we came home one evening and the master bathroom, bedroom and entire living room was flooded with over an inch of water. The waterline under the bathroom sink had burst and had likely been running for a few hours. We swept water out of the house with brooms and towels. We couldn’t reach the property manager but she was quick to contact us in the morning and send a repair man. Since the house is tiled everything dried quickly.
We had been watching our water usage but after the burst pipe we were over. The property manager didn’t even question it which we both appreciated. Communication with the homeowner and property manager was great.
We had friends who stayed on the opposite side of Willemstad during our stay, it did take over half an hour to get there as rush hour is a real thing on the island, we loved coming back to our quiet community.
We went to a few different beaches; Porto Mari, Kokomo beach and Cas Abou. Cas Abou was definitely our favorite; it’s a beautiful white sand beach that doesn’t require water shoes, the water is incredibly clear and we saw tons of fish and even an octopus.
The coolers were very handy to bring to the beach.

Home away from home.
We just got home from Casa Marise the end of January 2016. This time it wasn't so hard coming home because we have our reservation secured for the month of January next year. The first time we were there was 3-28-09. We loved the home and the location so much but were not sure we could afford to go back. We are now retired and we will be back every January because it feels so much like home. Marise is a wonderful owner and friend. Any problems that may occur are handled immediately. There is nothing better than sitting on the patio watching cruise ships, tankers, tug boats, etc. unless it's snorkeling in our own "fish bowl" off our own dock in front of the house. The parrot fish, tangs, sergeant majors, etc. are wonderful. There is a cove in the rock in front of the house that is terrific to swim through. The assortment of birds, lizards and iguanas on the property are something else. We have been so fortunate to have found Casa Marise.

Beautiful place
It was my first time in Curacao and I wanted to stay somewhere on the water and in a convenient vacation, when I laid my eye on Casa Marise. This was one of the cutest places I have ever visited. The house is very spacious with a large kitchen and family room. The kitchen has modern appliances yet local charm. There are two bedrooms in the main house so it sleeps four people - perfect for family and friends. One of the bedrooms and the kitchen have huge windows facing the beautiful view of the ocean. The house has WiFi so you can stay connected. There is also a guest house that can accommodate more people. The best part of the house is the back yard which opens up the most gorgeous view. The most beautiful water color i have ever seen. You also get a private dock from where you can go swimming in the ocean, not every hotel can offer that!
On top of all the charm of the house, Casa Marise has a great location. It is minutes away from the center of the city and sandy beaches of the island. I went for my birthday trip and I would not spend it any other way, if I ever go back to Curacao I would stay at Casa Marise again for sure!

Perfect in all aspects
My arrival date is a little off because I am a year late writing this review but I wanted to make sure I wrote one for this fantastic property. We stayed there for 10 days in late July, early August 2014. We loved it! The house is so open and was more than large enough for two people. We spent most of our time on the back porch watching the boat traffic and staring out into the Caribbean blue. The winds kept the house cool enough but it was nice to escape to the a/c in the bedroom at night for sleeping and for showering in the bathroom. The one drawback to having the windows and doors open all of the time was that there were lots of mosquitoes in the house, even at night. My boyfriend dove right behind the house and I snorkeled. He thought the diving there was really good. The snorkeling was a little deep but I still saw a good amount of fishlife and coral. The location of the house was perfect. We drove into Willemstad or Petermaai every night for dinner and/or to visit the casino. We also drove to other dive sites such as Playa Lagun and Porto Marie. Nothing was ever too far since the house was centrally located. It was quiet at night and we always felt safe. We showed pictures to all of our friends and family at home and now they all want to stay there. We would be happy to recommend it and hope to return again some day.

Perfect Caribbean Experience!
This was my first trip to the Caribbean and I wasn't sure what to expect. As our plane landed and we drove to the house, my excitement grew. We parked the car inside the locked gate and unloaded our luggage. When we walked into the house, my jaw dropped. It was beautiful!! An open living room with two large doors to the back yard, (the backyard was the OCEAN - what??!!) Incredible! I left my bags in the middle of the room and immediately walked outside. It was everything I could have imagined and MORE! Perfect house, comfortable beds, amazing kitchen, covered backyard patio, and the perfect brick grill. We spent the week swimming in the ocean (house has a private dock with ladder directly into the ocean), grilling delicious chicken in the backyard, drinking coffee (house has a coffee maker) and having some wonderful evening conversations. My wife spent a lot of the time laying on the hammock and reading her book. I would highly recommend this house and will definitely be staying there when we come back to Curacao.

What a beautiful home. Nathalie welcomed us in and was very informative about any questions we had. The sun, the water, and, ahh, the sunsets! What a great experience. We snorkeled almost everyday. The water is such a delight. We like to cook our own meals, and discovered that the iguanas would like to help us eat them! We named the iguanas Tom & Rosie, just to be different from the usual, Spike. The only place we ate out was Iguanas in Punda, the calamari was excellent. The grocery store has everything you need, and The Casa is fully equipped. There are days you will never leave. The only negative were the Mosquitos, bring bug bomb. The island was clean and easy to get around. We will be back to sunny Curacao.

Perfect Anniversary
This is not your cookie-cutter resort abode - it's a home with all the comfortable feelings of a home. We wanted something away from it all and Casa Marise fit the ticket. A welcome bottle of wine greated us. The location is perfect for shopping, a grocery market is a few miles away, and the island is easy to drive. However, if you arrive at night, I suggest you get a taxi and pick up you rental at the airport the next day (street signage is interesting). Casa Marise is an older home designed to take advantage of the breezes with large opening wooden windows and wooden doors at the front, back and kitchen. Only the bedrooms are airconditioned. Everything was clean and up-to-date and service was excellent. We spent our evenings watching the barges sail past in the distance accented by beautiful sunsets while being entertained by the iguanas and birds. Selma prepared our anniversary dinner, a treat that should not be missed. We cooked outside on the BBQ the other evenings. We also spent an afternoon at the nearby Blue Bay Resort for a little beach time which was a treat. We have already recommended Casa Marise to some of our friends. Remember to bring your own snorkling gear. There is cable TV, but with the spectacular view and wildlife, we NEVER turned it on - a first. WiFi kept us in touch with the outside world. I wouldn't bring small children as the cliff is just off the patio. All-in-All, we'll be back; but next time we will schedule around a full moon. ; > )

Perfect place to relax!!
We arrived at Casa Marise and were immediately wowed by the amazing views that welcomed us! We had not been to Curacao before, but immediately we felt at home and relaxed (the main purpose of our trip to the islands)! After a nice swim in the crystal clear waters right in front of us, we sat on the porch and watched the sun set on a perfect way to end a day of traveling! The price is amazingly low for the location and house. It's a very calm and peaceful location but close to the city. We rented a car and the drive to the city (Punda) is only about ten to fifteen minutes away. There are lots of nice restaurants in the city and around the island, but we found ourselves making food on the bbq on most nights.
Overall a great experience! Perfect for a get away from the real world while still having the ability to keep in touch with internet.
Amazing value for the price! Highly recommend Casa Marise to anyone looking for a get a way from the busy real world. Will come back for sure!

Casa Marise is a gorgeous sanctuary
A friend and I stayed at Casa Marise for a week in June. The home is spacious and elegant, and you can feel the history of the place from the moment you walk in--the proprietor's father built the home forty years ago, and all of the careful details--exposed beams, expansive covered brick patio, huge windows overlooking the sea--reveal the love with which the home was built. It is in excellent condition, and its location in the fishing village of Boca Sami could not be better. You're both close to town and the bustling eastern end of the island, and also a short drive away from quiet beaches and the more rustic western end of the island. The views from the patio are priceless, and there's a very local feel to the neighborhood--it's quiet and not overly touristic. Swimming and sunning at the house was so perfect, it was hard to tear ourselves way to venture to the many beautiful beaches nearby. It was fun to prepare meals in the large, well-appointed kitchen, and there was always a breeze off the sea to keep the house cool. Marise was very helpful to us, recommending good seafood places and other attractions around the island. She grew up in Curacao and is very knowledgeable about the island. The house is a magical place and well worth a few days, weeks, or months of your time!

Relaxing and Gorgeous
This is our 3rd time at staying at Casa Marise and we would never stay anywhere else in Curacao. It's so beautiful and tranquil at your home. Having such an open, bright and airy home with an ocean front view is a perfect vacation. Our two favorite activities are sitting on the patio and looking out over the ocean (and enjoying amazing sunsets), and jumping right into the ocean and snorkeling around to see all the colorful fish and the coral that is growing. We also love the open air BBQ pit on the cliff overlooking the ocean. Spending lazy afternoons on the hammock while looking out over the ocean (or at the ocean feet below) is a favorite afternoon napping spot.

Perfect get-away vacation!
We are staying at Casa Marise for two weeks- it's amazingly beautiful here. Right out of the living room, kitchen, and 2nd bedroom is post-card scenery of the ocean- literally feet from you. The patio with table is the location where we eat all our meals, which is next to the ocean- every evening we get to watch gorgeous sunsets with pinks, reds, oranges, blues, as we sip wine and eat our dinner.
Right down from the patio is a staircase which leads down to the ocean- we snorkeled and saw thousands of brightly colored fish- we spend hours doing this. Afterward, there is a refreshing outdoor shower to rinse off- then it's time for an Amstel Bright while looking over the ocean.
There are even brightly colored birds that come and use the bird feeder on the patio.
The location is great- 15minutes from the airport, downtown, and very close to the many beaches Curacao has to offer-if you wanted to leave.
This is a perfect get-away and relaxing vacation for families, honey-mooners (it has a romantic feel to it), anniversary celebrators- anyone wanting to get away from it all and enjoy lazy days with post-card matching scenery.
Also, we had a small problem with the electronic gate that leads from the street into the property. We contacted the owner, who was very easy to reach, and was very responsive- the problem was solved very quickly!
I would highly recommend Casa Marise and we will definitely be coming back- in fact, I am already telling my family they have to come and experience this! And, the price makes this a steal!!!

Spectacular Home!!!
I found this home on the internet just doing a basic search for rental properties in Curacao. We travel there every year due to the breathtaking scuba diving there. After reading the description of this home, I couldn't believe there was an availability when we were traveling. I didn't know what we were getting ourselves into...the internet can be very deceiving. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived!!! It was night time so we didn't get to see the view off the back of the home til morning...but what we did see was just AWESOME.
There are two separate bedrooms with their own baths and a pull out sofa bed in the master bedroom. The home is quite large and has a huge landscaped yard. There is a huge living room area and a very large kitchen stocked with everything you need (just like at home). We had 3 people in our group and I know that it says it sleeps 6, however I would only do 6 people if you are really close friends. I would say 2 couples would be good or a family of 6.
The view from the back is absolutely breathtaking!!! and the wildlife is really fun to watch (birds and lizzards).
We dove from the private dock on several occasions and was just amazed at how perfect this place was!! Saw many many wonderful creatures right in our own backyard--the ocean!!
As far as being clean, a cleaning service came 2 times a week, providing us with fresh towels and linens. Make sure you bring your own soap and toilet paper tho. The home is older and needs a bit of work...but it is all part of the charm...it has everything you need to have a fabulous vacation!
We tried many different local food places and were delighted by all. I don't think we had any bad experiences with food or anything else for that matter. The garlic sauce is a must...everyone there makes their own unique sauce so try as many as you can. We really enjoyed The Old Dutch Cafe!!
The owners really make you feel welcome!! It is a wonderful place!
I would go back in a heart beat and am telling all my friends and family for their future travels.
We also had a chance to stay in the guest house which is located on the property. It too was cute and cozy and has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. There is only one downfall....mosquitos!!! Bring bug spray....got quite a few bites.

The Best Rental on the island!
We stayed at Casa Marise over Labor Day 09. I cannot express what a beautiful house this is. The view from the cliff is the best panoramic view I have ever seen in the caribbean. The owners and managers are the most helpful people you could ask for. Daniella is an absolute sweetheart. We arrived without luggage and she even got a prescription called in for me from a local doctor! Far above and beyond what I expected. We dove from the dock many times and they were great dives, We saw a ray right off the bouy and a pod of dolphins swam by during an afternoon dive. The convenience of the dock with the outdoor shower is great, there"s ample space outside to dry your dive gear off, and if you must have an indoor shower there is an outdoor door to the interior bathroom. They provide beachtowels, washer, dryer and a great line dry. You are close enough to everything to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy the relaxation that only a non resort can only provide. The kitchen is fantastic! Open the windows up put on some great music and enjoy preparing a great caribbean meal on you cliff side bbq pit. Buy Off lantern refills at the Centuro Supermarket (we left the lantern it works great!) The supermarket also has great marinated meats just buy some foil pans and charcoal and cook up your own carribean feast on the patio and enjoy at sunset with an amstel bright! We have stayed in Bonaire, Belize and Mexico and this by far was our favourite place yet! Our home away from home! Thank you Marise! We'll be back (hopefully soon.....)

Wonderful Curacao vacation house
My two adult daughters and I had the wonderful opportunity to rent this lovely Curacao home for a week recently. Nicely situated in the middle of the island, this large two bedroom house is about a 20 minute drive to Willemstad, a 10 minute drive to a large supermarket, a 20 minute drive to the airport and has easy accessibility to many of the beautiful Curacao beaches by car. The caretaker and housekeeper were very helpful in orienting us to the island and were attentive in repairing damage as a result of a recent serious tropical storm. The kitchen was well appointed with appliances, dishes, pots and pans, the living room large and airy with comfortable furniture and the veranda had a wonderful view of the ocean complete with beautiful tropical birds and iguanas. All of the trees and plants had sustained serious damage due to the storm which was a shame but the location was very lovely despite the weather damage. The bedrooms were air-conditioned at night which was a blessing because there were abundant mosquitos present during the rainy season. Bring mosquito repellent. We had to provide our own soaps for the bathrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, and dish detergent for the house easily attainable at the local grocery store. One can snorkel at the property by climbing down some steps and a ladder and the swimming and lounging in the water was spectacular. The house had some nice little extras such as water floats and "noodles" for relaxing in the water, and a wonderful beach cooler in which we transported our lunches to the beaches every day. One has a sense of privacy and safety at the property and we enjoyed a combination of just relaxing around the property as well as exploring the beaches, and shopping in Willenstad. We did sample the local restaurants but enjoyed cooking our own meals just as well at the house. This vacation property was a very good value and we enjoyed our stay here very much.

I wanted to send you some pics and let you know what a wonderful time we had in Curacao. You truly have a beautiful villa and we just can't believe how we lucked out by finding it. I can honestly say if you keep your prices the way they are you will have no problem renting it out. I have already referred a few people to your website who were looking for an out of the way place to dive. We much prefer an island like Curacao to an island like Aruba. I can't stand the resort like atmosphere of such places and just relish in places like Curacao that are spectacularly beautiful and very rich with history. It was great because it was a bit like going to Holland with all the dutch culture! We just loved it.
I have attached pictures that you are welcome to use on your website. We could not believe the sunsets off the porch...they were so beautiful! I love to cook so we spent the majority of the time cooking at night and eating on the porch. We were sure no restaurant could beat the view we had at the house! I know you asked me about any suggestions we had and the only thing I can think of is that a portable fan around the kitchen might off set the heat. However, I realize we were there during the hottest month as Ron told us.
We just loved it and would love to return again! Thanks so much for all the hospitality and for sharing your home with us. We did our best to take care of it and treat it as if it were our own....(I love the white brick with the thick dark wood...just gorgeous!)
